Excellent analysis! As soon as I get home, I'm putting that post somewhere
safe. I had propably been focusing too much on the "Dragon Pass" style
battlefield dominance of the field colleges.

I'll still have to figure out what sort of sorcery, spirits, and massive
feats the field colleges can bring to the battlefield to cause direct
destruction (I remember a massive sunspear from KoS), but it's good to be
reminded of the more subtle uses of the magicians.

Good point elsewhere too about the more specialized units, like the Crater
Makers. Funnily enough, I think the crater makers may not have a fast
enough response time for use as battlefield artillery. It propably takes a
while for the meteors to fly from the moon. They seem to be more of a
strategic asset, used like cruise missiles (or huge trebuchets) to pound
enemy fortifications and towns.
