It's an old theory of Gloranthan mythic development which
posits that glorantha's myth was formed through the
development of four separate worlds and that Gods War was
when those worlds came together.

Its essence is that West is the sorcerous world, the North is the
theistic world, the South is the animistic world and the East is the
mystical world.
