True - but this is not everyday use. You (and others) are having a
very specific metaphysical discussion - as a result, the "sloppy and
imprecise" use of those words is inappropriate. Don't take that as an
insult - most use of language is sloppy and imprecise. Heck, Ludwig
Wittgenstein ultimately dismissed most philosophical questions (and
nearly all of his mentor Bernard Russell's philosophical work) as
merely result of "sloppy and imprecise" use of language. "Wovon man
nicht sprechen kann, daruber muss man schweigen."
As an aside, I think it is a mistake to assume the Rule Book is the
final authority on How Glorantha Works. It is simply a model (one of
many potential models) that proposes a system of mechanics for folk to
play games set in Glorantha. It is a good model, but is certainly not
the final word on the matter.
