They were not the only ones to do this. East Isles came through fine,
and Brithos did while remaining insular.

*This* is the trick. The various councils, even before the Dawn,
managed to combine ancient rivals or enemies without breaking into
internecine combat, which let the area come through the Darkness with
an anomalously high population, compared to the rest of the Lozenge
(frex, I think that the population was higher than all of Dara Happa,
from Greg's email about this?, even before factoring in that Uz eat
like horses, and dinos even more).

Well, I doubt that Kralorela participated, but the Monomythic
description of IFWW in the RQ books does imply help given to Zzabur,
and in turn from him to another Last God Standing.
In the preDawn and First Age, the point of IFWW was probably the *We*
Won, and forging intergroup alliances to help the Council get everyone
through as well as possible.
That seems to have been lost by the start of the Second Age, if not by
when the Council moved to Dorastor. Nowdays (ie., Third Age) the point
is the Everyman *I* Fought, which is similar to every other area's
myth, even the Talastari. Possibly the old form is something for
Argrath to rediscover or re-emphasize? Certainly the idea that,
against Chaos, differences are unimportant, would be useful for a long
crusade/jihad against a notably Chaos-using culture like the Lunars.
