Exactly. IFWW is for mortals. It's their moment in the grand struggle to 
restore Glorantha. I am not going to reprint her whole paragraph, but just 
this part:

And there, my friends, is your initiation. Every Heortiling knows they are 
going to get to that point. Every Heortling then has to face it in reality, 
in the Other World,  in a way they didn't actually expect. And when you can 
do THAT, you are an adult, and a Heortling.

Interesting. I have the distinct impression of reading that IFWW is mentioned 
as being pan-Gloranthan. Sadly, most of my gaming stuff is buried in the 
packing.

I think you are too hung up on the word "Fought" and thinking it is simply a 
battle. I've never viewed IFWW that way. I completely get the Heortlings 
thinking of it that way, and thinking it is a male only event, and assigning 
a different name to what the women do, but it's the same event, IMO.
