[Glorantha] Knotty Morokanth

I'm building up a Praxian Hordes of the Things army that's fairly  
well endowed with Morokanth and I thought I'd convert one of the  
Tabletop Minis figures to show a Moro holding some Praxian knot  
writing.  Then it occured to me; how do thumbless people tie knots?   
Any thoughts?  Do Morokanth use awakened herdman familiars to do  
their writing for them?

Apologies if this is already covered in one of the sources I already  
have but all my Gloranthan material is packed away for a house move.
