My general estimate is that there are as many as in our world:
approximately 2% of the population.

I'd suggest a pyramid of numbers, with something like a 1:4:16 ratio.
That is, 1 adept/bishop per 4 wizards/sorcerers per 16 liturgists and
apprentices.

Me too. And I also think that there is an average ratio of something like 9
wizards to 1 sorcerer, max.
These numbers ought to make people aware of just how unique and special their
magic users are.
