Aside from routine worship, I can imagine a number of reasons why PCs might
want to visit the node of a friendly saint, demogod, etc and there can be
risks to doing so.
For various reasons several of the characters in my Lunar game found themselves
on the Moon. One was an Irripi Ontor worshiper and found himself on the steps of
Irripi Ontor's personal library. As it happened he had some very
important information
he desperately needed to look up. After persuading the Librarian to
give him access
he quickly found the information... then discovered that the Library
also contained
lots of other information that could be usefull... and then yet more
information...
and then the Librarian offered him a permanent place on the staff of
the library, with
a free pass into it's innermost reading rooms. In the end the
character had to win
a contest pitting his earthly relationships and passions against his religious
virtues in order to tear himself away, using a HP for a bump in the process.
He got what he wanted, but at a cost.
