I don't see where these are relevant to describing changing the nodes.

Yes, that is correct. But what's it gotta do with changing nods, or even with
changing any Otherside?

The Other Sides essentially can not be changed in any way.

NOW, one may imagine that it is changed when a person goes from the Everything
world to their god's house, and then exits into the Hero Plane in some 
specific
age. It is stated that, with Orlanth for instance, entering into the Darkness
Age reveals that Orlanth's house is cold, practically deserted; which in
earlier ages Ernalda is there, etc.

These changes are not done by the heroquesters. They are done to the 
God Plane.
These changes arfe how the god's house appears IN THE AGE THEY AE ENTERING.
