"If our ancestors saw a large unusual bird they described what they had
actually seen, as the concept for it was included in their limited
vocabulary. But how could they have described a phenomenon in the firmament
seen for the first time for which words and concepts were lacking? Probably
the alien cosmonauts were not over-particular about casualties during their
first landing on our planet."
Erich von Daeniken, The Gold of the Gods, p. 24 (Rev. English ed., 1974) (I
didn't buy it, I inherited, honest.)
So, it's official. Ducks are 'Star Captains', i.e. a clumsy term to describe
anatoform astronauts from some other planet (actually, given the
name-genesis legends of Duck Point...)... or the same planet in Planet of
the Ducks styl-ie.

If you are implying, Keith, that the fact that I alone have met, befriended
and caroused with the hitherto unknown Caladran duck tribe, ignored of
anatopology; that I alone have been trusted with their secrets, for they
will meet with no others; and that I have no photographic or representative
evidence to prove my claims whatsoever, other than a quick sketch which
curiously includes the word "concept"... somehow invalidates the empirical
basis of my research, then I'm outraged.
Cheerio,
Stu.
