The Lanisti became the Lakrene.  In Dorastor: Land of Doom, they appear
on the Erinflarth river on the map on p6 and are referred to as the Lakinsti
on p11 of the same book.  In the map of Dorastor in Nysalor's time (ibid
p8), Lakrene is shown where the Lanisti were.

If one wants to be really linguistically about the whole thing, the "n" in
Lanisti was actually an "ng" (as in "fi_ng_er") which can morph into
a "k" sound (an real world example is the Ngai Tahu/Kai Tahu, the
local Maori Tribe where I live - the first name is the name of the tribe
in standard Maori while the second name is the name of the tribe in
their own dialect).
