True that.
But if the benchmarks aren't skills / abilities in the same way as player
heroes have them, then it's a whole different kettle of fish. It's pretty
important tactically whether your heroes manage to ambush a tough opponent
before he/she has had time to get magican augments up.
If you think the benchmark values are after augments, you will not know
wha the actual raw skill of the opponents are. I don't think that is what
is meant in the book. they are not used anywhere else like that either.
Abilities needed to qualify for a position, or to learn a secret are
always raw skill, not after augments.
