Regarding the Immutability of Truestone, there are rumours that:
*Adamantium is made from Truestone
*The Mostali know how to do this
*The Mostali can work Truestone using Adamantium tools
I think these may even have been explicitly stated in RQ era products,
Wyrm's Footnotes Q&As, etc. I think they're probably true up to a
point. My guess is that:
* True Mostali (not the 'clay dwarfs' we know and love), knew how to
make Adamant from Truestone, and even then may only have been able to
do it as assistants to Mostal himself.
* The process is lost, and in any case could only work in Mythic
circumstances, i.e. possibly on extremely tough HeroQuests.
* If you can get hold of Adamantium tools, you'd still need Mythic
levels of strength to make any dent on Truestone with them, and it may
not be possible to do this in the mundane world anyway.
When we talk about Irresistible Forces meeting Immovable Objects, well
Truestone may not be Immovable as such, but it's certainly Immutable.
It's just a question of how Immutable!
Regarding exploding Truestones. I can't see binding a chaotic spirit
into a Truestone doing anything but destroying the spirit. It'd have
to be a deity, or at least a part of one, to do any harm to Truestone
because only a deity has deep enough roots into the cosmic 'power
grid' to match up to it. Just think about what Truestone is. It's a
piece of Cosmic Law, the foundation of all that is real and enduring.
Destroying a piece of Truestone IMHO actualy weakens the reality of
ALL of Glorantha. The ability to do that is beyond the normal, mortal
scale of potential.
